Hello Again ... Gucci ?

Gucci shoes, in my experience, are extremely uncomfortable. The couple of pairs that I own, all have their weird little quirks. For example, the lace-up, its a beautiful shoe and perfectly my size, that I had bought from Bicester Village, a couple of years ago. Whenever I wear them, after the first hour, my toes hurt like someone is constantly stepping on them. Or the loafers, which when I wear them for a couple of hours, even with invisible socks on, my feet end up being scratched and blistered. Ever since I have been quite hesitant with buying shoes from this brand.

But recently the brand seems to have had a huge image overhaul. Alessandro Michele, has managed to turn the brand from being all about tailoring and structure, to this beautiful, flower power, relaxed, quirky, gender bending phenomenon, that has pushed the envelop for menswear and  opened many new paths for the menswear industry to explore. (although a part of me also things, the clothes  will make one look a very privileged hobo, think Jared Leto in his flower embroidered hoodie). Anyway, back to the shoes, when I first saw Princetown loafers I instantly admired them, but did not think I or any other regular man could carry them off, on a day to day basis. But then, came Wiz khalifa.

I mean the man makes the shoes work for both a formal event and with a very casual outfit. Even Aziz Ansari, recently wore the shoes with some chinos and a button down shirt and he looked bloody fantastic! The shoes just adds a very discreet extravagance aspect to the outfit. Which makes me really want to get one, but then, with my past experience with the brand, I am confused if I should actually get them or just ride out this trend. But then on the other hand, coming from a perpetually summer climate, the Princetown shoes (without the fur) seem to me the perfect choice to feel comfortable and airy without feeling too hot or stuffy. So please share you experiences with the shoe in the comment section below and help me decide!
