Living in a country like Bangladesh, has its challenges when it comes to fashion. The general consensus seems to be 'FIT IN' or 'BOLLYWOOD'. If there is too much of an experimental essence in ones outfit (purely form personal experience), it can lead to a lot of stares and strange questions or one can even be labelled 'out-of-touch'. All in all, its mostly about fitting in while standing out?  However, there's a very small niche of menswear enthusiasts, but then again they vary in style, from athleisure to oversized to tailored outfits. But even in that niche, its usually very safe in design but very loud with colour and fabrics, leading to everyone looking the same, albeit in different shades of blue. The audience for details and experimentation, are very very low. And have I mentioned loafers? They are an epidemic. Anyway, back to the point, because of the weather here (mostly warm and extremely humid), suits or jackets are not very practical. ...

Hello gentlemen and ladies, if you are reading. Patina Shoes! One of most, beautiful things I have recently become obsessed with. First what is a patina? The goal of a shoe patina is to change the appearance of a shoe by playing on the design, contrast and colours of its leather. This technique was formerly reserved for the major shoemaking companies, but has since become a common practice due to the development of new products as well as the commercialisation of untreated and un-tinted leather shoes. Now, recently going through m y closet, I realised all of my sho es are either very practical or just plain Hype beast nonsense. I didn't own any true, unique pieces that i keep harping on to people that I want to own. Gucci shoes, in my experience, are extremely uncomfortable. The couple of pairs that I own, all have their weird little quirks. For example, the lace-up, its a beautiful shoe and perfectly my size, that I had bought from Bicester Village, a couple of years ago. Whenever I wear them, after the first hour, my toes hurt like someone is constantly stepping on them. Or the loafers, which when I wear them for a couple of hours, even with invisible socks on, my feet end up being scratched and blistered. Ever since I have been quite hesitant with buying shoes from this brand.  But recently the brand seems to have had a huge image overhaul.
